Mole (K'yalutsi) Protective and Hunting Animal of the Underground, Guardian of Below, Protector of Crops. An uncommon fetish, the mole, in reality a shrew in the Southwest, protects growing crops from mice, rodents and small game. The least powerful of the protective and hunting animals, moles are generally carved low to the ground, with pointed noses and thin, pointed tails.
